Phra Kru Pitat Sutthikoon
Phra Kru Pitat Sutthikoon
at Wat Rong Wua Daeng

We were taken to this Temple, some way outside of Chiang Mai one day by Phra Kru Pitat Sutthikoon, our host and the Abbot in Wat Sri Suphan. As far as I remember the Temple's name in English was Red Cow Temple, but as there was nobody around and no notices in English I have been unable to find out any further details.

There were a lot of buildings there, including an old (or at least an older) Viharn, which had some very good work on its gables and windows, and a nice arrangement of Five Buddhas on the Shrine on the inside. The Temple was festooned for some celebration, either past or coming.

The Ubosot, which was unusually high and set up above other buildings, was closed, and there was no one around to open it. At the far end of the compound there was a modern, aircraft hanger-type of Viharn, which was unusual, with Buddha Shrines at either end and another in the middle, the feel of the place was empty and cold and it didn't really work well.
