Inside the Great Thūpa, an incredibly elaborate relic chamber was constructed. This chapter provides a vivid description of its interior, which featured a golden Bodhi-tree and detailed depictions of the Buddha’s life and previous births. Designed to be a miniature universe, the chamber was sealed to protect the sacred relics. It served as a hidden, holy center where the essence of the Buddha and his Arahats would reside undisturbed.
