Near Bārāṇasī, a virtuous tiger cares for his blind father and befriends a parrot named Tuṇḍilo. A wicked man kills Tuṇḍilo, then deceives the tiger to receive hospitality. The man later murders the tiger’s father. Despite these cruel betrayals, the gracious tiger chooses compassion over vengeance and spares the man’s life, demonstrating incredible restraint. Through this immense virtue, the tiger is reborn in heaven.
