09 The Merchant Buddhavamma

Buddhavamma, a merchant from Pāṭaliputta, offered grape juice (muddikapāna) to the Buddha. Later, while crossing a desert, his caravan’s water failed. Miraculously, a jar overflowed with inexhaustible grape juice, saving everyone. After sharing this wonder with the Buddha and living virtuously, Buddhavamma was reborn in a golden celestial palace (kanakavimāna). His merit provided divine rewards in heaven, illustrating the immense power of a timely and faithful gift to the Saṅgha.
