A titanic battle ensues between the Vanara army and Ravana’s Rakshasa forces. Many great warriors, including Indrajit and Kumbhakarna, fall in combat. Rama and Lakshmana face immense perils but are saved by divine intervention and Hanuman’s bravery. Finally, Rama engages Ravana in a final duel. Using the celestial Brahmastra weapon, Rama pierces Ravana’s heart, ending the demon-king’s tyranny. With the war won, Sita is liberated from her long and painful captivity.
