07 Truthfulness (Sacca)

high-definition creative commons posters depicting Truthfulness (Sacca)based on the Great Chronicles of the Buddhas together with further information.

Truth has two kinds: conventional (names based on perception) and ultimate (reality discerned through wisdom). Conventional truth aids generosity, morality, and prevents evil. Ultimate truth reveals mind, mental factors, matter, and Nibbāna. Buddha taught both—discourses use conventional terms to guide beings to happy states, Abhidhamma reveals ultimate reality. Noble truth sees all worldly happiness as suffering due to impermanence. Wisdom alone can discern Nibbāna’s peace.
