27-28 Dharma and Compassion

high-definition creative commons posters depicting Dharma and Compassion from The Epic of Maṇimēkhalai together with further information.

Seeking a deeper understanding of reality, Maṇimēkhalai studies various philosophical and religious systems of the time, including materialist, Jain, and Vedic schools. Finding their doctrines lacking, she maintains her dedication to the Buddhist path. Continuing her mission of mercy, she goes out to feed the hungry and the sick using her magic bowl, putting into practice the active compassion central to the Buddha’s teachings.
