Following the death of the prince, the king orders Maṇimēkhalai to be arrested, but she disappears due to divine intervention. A monk predicts that she will eventually attain spiritual liberation. The queen, grief-stricken and vengeful, wishes to punish her, but Maṇimēkhalai uses her magical powers and teachings to convert the queen from her anger, eventually allowing her to be released from custody unharmed.
