Maṇimēkhalai encounters a woman named Kāyaśaṇḍikai, who suffers from a curse causing unquenchable hunger until she eats from the magic bowl. Meanwhile, the courtesan Chitrāpatī, Maṇimēkhalai’s grandmother, schemes to force the heroine back to her dancing duties by speaking to the prince. The prince, still infatuated, resolves to track Maṇimēkhalai down, unaware of the spiritual transformation she is undergoing and the dangers ahead.
