Maṇimēkhalai remembers her past life and recognizes her connection to the prince in a previous existence. The island’s guardian deity, Tīvatilakai, appears and tests her before explaining the significance of the sacred seat. The goddess instructs her to receive the miraculous begging-bowl called Aputra-cintamani, which will never run out of food, enabling her to satisfy the hunger of all living beings in need.
