high-definition creative commons photographs about Centres and Sites in Sri Lanka from the Life of Mahasi Sayadaw together with further information.

In 1958 the Burmese delegation returned to Sri Lanka to formally open the McCarthy Road Headquarters. Three Burmese masters were permanently stationed to systematically propagate Vipassanā across a 12-center regional network. After their administrative duties, the monks went on a historical pilgrimage, honoring ancient Arahats at Alu Vihāra and worshipping the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy amid local monastic hospitality.
