Ashin Sobhana continued his scholarship under Abāyārama Sayādaw and earned the prestigious Siri Pavara Dhammacāriya teaching title in 1941. When World War II forced the evacuation of Moulmein due to nearby airfields, he returned to Seikkhun. Amid continuous bombing raids, he remarkably authored the 950-page, two-volume text The Method of Vipassanā Meditation in just seven months, establishing his growing renown as the Venerable Mahāsi Sayādaw.
