08 Ven. Sakulā

high-definition creative commons posters depicting Ven. Sakulā based on the Great Chronicles of the Buddhas together with further information.

She resolved to master the divine eye during Buddha Padumuttara’s time. As Princess Nandā, she was the Buddha’s half-sister. In Buddha Kassapa’s age, she was an ascetic who offered lights at his relic shrine. Reborn in Sāvatthī, she became a lay disciple, then a nun. Diligent in practice, she attained Arahatship and excelled in remembering past existences, earning the foremost title for the divine eye.
