She aspired during Buddha Padumuttara to be foremost in supernormal powers. Born from a lotus as Padumavatī, with lotuses appearing under her feet. Married to the King of Bārāṇasī, she gave birth to 500 sons placed in caskets and thrown in the river. After being banished, she was reunited with the king. In her last life she became a nun and an Arahat, renowned for supernormal powers. The Buddha declared her foremost among nuns endowed with such powers.
