Under Buddha Padumuttara, he aspired to remember past lives. In his final life, he ordained and became an Arahat with a keen memory of past existences. He had been reborn in the unconscious form realm for 500 aeons, which he could not recall directly but deduced through wisdom. The Buddha declared him foremost among those who recollect their past lives.
