As Prince Sumana, he aspired under Buddha Padumuttara to be a personal attendant. He built a monastery and served the Buddha. In his final life, born as the Buddha’s cousin, he became a Stream-enterer. After 20 years, he was appointed permanent attendant. He served the Buddha devotedly for 25 years. He was declared foremost in learning, memory, and exemplary conduct.
