20-21. Ven. Rāhula and Ven. Raṭṭhapāla
high-definition creative commons photographs about Ven. Rāhula and Ven. Raṭṭhapāla from the Great Chronicles together with further information.
As friends, the future Rāhula gave discriminatively, aspiring to be a Buddha’s son; future Raṭṭhapāla gave liberally, aspiring to be foremost in faith. Rāhula (as Nāga lord Pathavindhara) and Raṭṭhapāla (as Sakka) made aspirations under Buddha Padumuttara. In his final life, Rāhula became the Buddha’s son; Raṭṭhapāla became foremost among those ordained through conviction.
