Under Buddha Padumuttara, he aspired to be foremost in devotion. In his final life, he was captivated by the Buddha’s appearance and ordained to gaze at him constantly. The Buddha told him: He who sees the Dhamma sees me. Exiled from the Buddha’s presence, he despaired. The Buddha’s radiant vision and verse brought him to Arahatship. He was declared foremost in devoted faith.
