high-definition creative commons photographs about Ven. Soṇa Koḷivisa from the Great Chronicles together with further information.
As Sirivaḍḍha, he aspired under Buddha Padumuttara to be foremost in strenuous effort. He later served a Paccekabuddha, wishing for soft red skin. Born into luxury, he ordained but over-exerted himself in walking meditation, injuring his feet. The Buddha taught him the harp parable: not too tight, not too loose. Balancing effort, he became an Arahat, declared foremost in energy.
