high-definition creative commons photographs about Ven. Khadiravaniya Revata from the Great Chronicles together with further information.
As a boatman, he ferried Buddha Padumuttara and aspired to be foremost forest-dweller. In his final life, he fled his wedding, ordained, and dwelt in an acacia forest. He became an Arahat through strenuous effort. The Buddha visited him, and restless monks who mocked him learned of his psychic powers.
