As ascetic Nanda, he honoured Buddha Padumuttara with floral seats and aspired to twofold honour. In his final life, he built Jetavana monastery and ordained. He taught with Dhamma itself as objective, not referencing persons, and meditated on loving-kindness before alms. He was declared foremost in living free from defilements and worthy of gifts.
