Mahānāma, a Sakyan Prince, once aspired to become a leading lay disciple in providing exquisite offerings. In his final life, he generously supported the Buddha and the Sangha with delicious alms and medicines for a full year following their hardships. Despite facing monastic interference, his unwavering dedication to providing high-quality requisites became legendary. Consequently, the Buddha declared him the foremost lay disciple for offering superior alms food and medicinal requisites.
