high-definition creative commons posters depicting The Story about Śrīmitra (Western Regions) together with further information.
Śrīmitra, a prince from the Western Regions, renounced his royal status to become a monk and traveled to China during the chaotic Yongjia Period. Settling in Jiankang (modern Nanjing), he became a respected figure among the Southern Jin elite. He is particularly noted for introducing Buddhist mantras and esoteric rituals to China, as well as his expertise in chanting, which deeply influenced Chinese Buddhist liturgical traditions.
