Kang Senghui (Sogdiana)

Kang Senghui, of Sogdian descent, introduced Buddhism to the Southern Kingdom of Wu during the Three Kingdoms period. He famously convinced the ruler Sun Quan of the Dharma’s power by successfully invoking a Buddhist relic miracle. He established the Jianchu Monastery, the first in the region, and translated various sūtras, playing a pivotal role in the early expansion of Buddhism in southern China.
