This chapter defines stress as a result of mental agitations like craving and anger, which are rooted in ignorance. The chapter provides examples of how wanting things to be different from reality creates internal conflict. Alleviation comes from developing awareness and wisdom to identify and avoid these mental impurities. By accepting the present moment without attachment, the mind remains calm, even when faced with difficult circumstances like illness or congestion.
