Following the first discourse, the group of five monks receive further instructions and attain deep insights into the Dhamma. The Buddha then delivers his second major teaching, focusing on the characteristic of non-self. He systematically analyzes the five aggregates—body, feeling, perception, mental processes, and consciousness—showing they are impermanent, unsatisfactory, and devoid of a permanent self. Upon hearing this, all five monks attain complete liberation, becoming Arahants.
