The Buddha travels to the Deer Park in Isipatana to share his realization. Along the way, he encounters Upaka the ascetic, who walks away skeptical. At Isipatana, the group of five ascetics initially receive him coldly but are soon won over by his presence. The Buddha delivers his first discourse, setting the Dhamma wheel rolling by teaching the Middle Way, avoiding extremes, and explaining the Four Noble Truths.
