The Pura Bukit Dharma Durga Kutri complex in Ubud is actually three temples: Pura Puseh at the bottom, one level up is the Padharman Temple, and at the top of the hill is the Bukit Dharma Durga temple. The main temple at the top of the hill features an old Durga statue said to be representing Queen Mahendradatta who had married the Balinese king Udayana. The temple was probably founded then in the 10th century, but has been extended since then. As is usual with the Balinese temples it is set in very beautiful natural surroundings.
