Stūpa TK 23, found at Tapa-Kalan, Haḍḍa, is one of 80 votive stūpas found at the site surrounding the main stūpa. TK 23 comes from the northern side. It was excavated under the supervision of Jules Barthoux, who sent these stūpas and other artifacts back to France. TK 121 below is also a votive stūpa, but its original position in relation to the main stūpa is not known to me.
The Miracle at Shravasti was where the Buddha overcame the sectarians, and displayed the Double Miracle, alternatively issuing water and flames from his body. In this image we see flames issuing from the shoulders, and water from the feet. Above the figure are pictured Indra and Brahma.
